Take the load off, and have our Arkansas Movers transport your precious belongings while you settle in. With a population size of about 590, you will be able to get to know your neighbors here. It definitely has a rural feel in Pulaski County. Roland is located north of Pinnacle Mountain State Park and is also near the Arkansas River Trail. The trail connects 38 parks, six museums, and more than 5,000 acres of federal, state, and local parkland.
In 1950, the Big Maumelle River was dammed west of Roland, creating Lake Maumelle. Although no swimming is allowed, you can take your boats out on the water and fish. Check out Jolly Roger's Marina for party barge rentals, boat slips, and fuel. The lake is famous for its many sailing regattas. Another notable tidbit of Roland, AK, is that it is home to P. Allen Smith, a TV host of shows that include Garden Home, Garden to Table, and Garden Style.
A little over half the residents own their homes. The median house value is about $153,900, and the average median household income is $34,865. The population is mainly made up of retirees and tends to be more conservative. Roland also offers an excellent school system, and there is virtually no crime.
If you are moving with your school-aged children, Roland is zoned to the Joe T. Robinson school system, named after a former Governor of Arkansas. There are numerous fun activities that your family can enjoy, including the Little Italy Arkansas Heritage Museum. Founded in 2018, the museum's mission is to preserve Little Italy's history and celebrate the Italian-American heritage. The museum highlights the pioneering spirit of the community's founding families, their Catholic faith, and their production of wine.
Another destination spot is Bobrook Farms & River Bottom Winery. The farm hosts weddings, field trips, and special events. The seasonal pumpkin patch is open beginning around late September and running until the end of October. Admission includes mazes, pig races, hayrides, and a hay pyramid. Or, if you are looking to get away and enjoy a glass of wine, you have come to the right spot.
