On May 6, 2020, non-essential businesses were allowed to reopen in Kansas City with strict social distancing guidelines. The Kansas City metro area plans to reopen businesses starting the 15th of May provided that the 10/10/10 rule is followed. This means that buildings and businesses that service the public can reopen at 10% capacity or 10 people, whichever is greater. Visitors who spend 10 minutes or more at a business or gathering are required to sign-in and provide contact information. Potential fines and suspensions will be issued to businesses who don’t follow the 10/10/10 rule.1
