Got 20 Minutes a Day? You Can Have a Cleaner Home!

One misunderstanding about cleaning your home is that weekends need to be dedicated to massive cleaning efforts, or that it is a full-time job keeping the house clean. That is simply not true! By devising a cleaning schedule for a few minutes each day, you can stay on top of clutter and junk and cut the need for weekly cleaning marathons when you should be enjoying your weekend. The Denver local movers want to help you get a cleaning schedule in place so you can take care of messes a little bit at a time. Read on to learn our expert tips.

Deal with things immediately. Checking your mail while still outside is an easy way to prevent clutter from building up inside the home. Toss junk mail before you even walk in the front door! This will cut down the amount of paper that piles up in your foyer or at the front end table.

Clean the dishes after each meal. Is there anything fouler than a sink full of dirty dishes? Stay on top of your kitchen as you use dishes and you will prevent it from turning into a monster. Nobody likes doing it, But waiting for another meal or until you have enough to fill the dishwasher just makes things feel overwhelming and easier to put off. If you need to take the trash out, place it by the front door to go out in the morning or dispose of it that night so it's complete.

Take care of a little bit of laundry each day.  Wash a load of towels, lights, or colors as you notice a particular group starting to fill up in the hamper. If you take things to a laundromat, sort clothes as you go so things are easier to load up into machines when you get there. Fold them before you come home so you aren't dumping baskets out on your sofa or bed.

Turn up the music! Playing music while you clean puts you in a better mood. Singing, humming, whistling or turning up the stereo are all great options to keep the beat in your feet and have fun while working. You can even find cleaning playlists designed to keep your spirits high!

Challenge yourself. Setting a timer can get you motivated to do as much as you can in a set time. Give yourself 20 minutes and see how much you can accomplish.  Get through the usual suspects, like wiping down counters in the kitchen and bathrooms, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and vacuuming and see what else you can squeeze in!

There you have it! A few ways you can get a little cleaning done each day and win the fight against clutter.
