Castle Rock At a Glance

There are many neighborhoods that comprise the Castle Rock region. Planning a move to Castle Rock first entails selecting an area of town where you would like to live. North of downtown and west of i-25 lies The Meadows, Red Hawk Ridge, and Castle Pines Village. South of downtown and west of I-25 lies Keene Ranch, and east of I-25 is Plum Creek, Castlewood Ranch, and Bell Mountain Ranch. Last, there are several neighborhoods located North of Downtown and east of I-25: Founders Village, Escavera, Diamond Ridge Estates, and Sapphire Point/Puma Ridge/Cliffside/Cutter’s Ridge.

As of 2010, there were just over 48,000 residents in the town of Castle Rock. Castle Rock is the 17th most populous municipality in Colorado and is noted as an area of urbanization for the entire United States. Current studies place the population over 50,000, though the official census has not confirmed this theory. Much of the town’s population works in the Denver Technological Center, known commonly to locals as DTC. From Castle Rock, the commute is about 15 minutes on Interstate 25. Other nearby amenities such as downtown Denver and the Denver International airport are about 40 minutes away.

There are fourteen public schools in Castle Rock and two private schools, as well as a charter school, a magnet school, and an alternative school.  The town is comprised of extensive parks and open spaces, which make up 27% of the town’s total land area. There are 56 miles of paved trails and soft surface trails as well.
