St. Patrick’s Day With Your Kids

Sometimes we forget how much fun it is to be a kid, but it doesn't have to be that way! This St. Patrick's Day, do something fun that you and your kids will enjoy. These little activities are especially helpful if your family recently moved to St. Louis and your kids are not yet adjusted to their new home. Creating great memories is important, and there is no better time to start than St. Patty's Day! Let your St. Louis relocation company give you some tips.

Leprechauns Are Comin' to Town

Trick your kiddos into thinking a sneaky leprechaun came to visit. You can start with little footprints on their toilet. If you have a baby in the house, paint the bottoms of their feet green and plant their little toes on the toilet seat. If not, you can paint the sides of your hand green and use fingerprints for the toes. Either way, your kids will think this is so cool! You can also dye the water in the toilet green with a few drops of food coloring.

If you want to take your trick to the next level, you can turn the water from your faucet green. Place a few green fizzy tablets under the screen of your sink's faucet, and place the screen back on. The tablets will slowly dissolve as the water runs, and in return, they will turn the water green. Pretty cool, right? Your kids will sure think so!

An Irish Feast

Nothing says fun like food, so turn each meal into one fit for a leprechaun. For breakfast, add some green food coloring to the milk of a bowl of Lucky Charms. For a healthy snack, make rainbow fruit kabobs with strawberries, cantaloupe, pineapple, kiwi, blueberries, and grapes. You can serve with vanilla yogurt for dipping. For lunch, make them a wrap with spinach tortillas. And for dinner, you can make a traditional Irish meal like corned beef and cabbage.

The real fun comes with dessert. Make cupcakes with rainbow frosting and sprinkles, or frost the edges of some Oreos with white frosting and top with green sprinkles. You can also make a delicious green dessert drink with green ice cream and ginger ale. Scoop lime or pistachio flavored ice cream, gelato or sherbet in a glass, and top with some ginger ale. It makes for the perfect dessert for the whole family.

If you want to make your kids a little St Patty's goody bag, we have just the thing. Buy a pack of rainbow Twizzlers and some gold coins. Get one of each color, put them in rainbow order, and bend them into the shape of a rainbow. Place them on some cellophane and add the gold coins. Tie it all together with some green ribbon, and voila!

St. Patrick's Day is the perfect time to have fun with your children, especially if they are adjusting to a new home in St. Louis. Start some St. Patrick's Day traditions in your new home that will leave them with fond memories year round.
