The Exorcist House

Our Eureka movers would not dare step into this home after watching the popular horror film, The Exorcist. The story goes that back in March and April of 1949, a young 14-year-old boy happily lived in this home, until the day he decided to play with a Ouija board that led to him being possessed. Based on a book of the true story, the boy had Jesuit priests take him to a nearby hospital as they conducted an exorcism to release the demon that captivated his body. It is told that the exorcist was so difficult it nearly killed the young boy. This haunted place in St. Louis is currently owned by Georgetown University.

Alexian Brothers Hospital

Although in the film, The Exorcist, the priests conduct the exorcist in the young boys’ home, it actually occurred at the Alexian Brothers Hospital. It is told that once they had finished treating the boy, the room was sealed off from visitors and employees. Unexplainable electrical issues would occur, such as the lights flickering. Some even say that they would feel blasts of cold air coming from inside the room. The Alexian Brothers Hospital has since been demolished and rebuilt in a different location.
