Maryland Heights At a Glance

Maryland Heights has become an area filled with activities, from casinos to water parks and with endless dining options. History is firmly rooted in the area a well. Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park was a summer resort in the early 1900s, and now it is recognized as the area’s first park. Since then, other parks have been added to the region, such as Vago Community Park, Gerald A. Eise Memorial Park,Quiet Hollow Park, Parkwood Park, and more have sprung up around the area with ample green space, bbq areas, playgrounds and athletic areas. The Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum, located at the Creve Coeur airport, boasts a large collection of aircrafts from the 1920s and 1930s.

In addition to the parks and museums, Maryland Heights is home to the first casino in St. Louis County, Hollywood Casino, which opened in 1997 and was originally named Harrah’s. The Verizon Ampitheater is also a draw for performers and is able to hold 20,000 people.

A large amount of residents have jobs in manufacturing, though there are also a large amount of locals employed in arts and entertainment, thanks to the casino and other hospitality developments. Annually, there are about 9 million visitors that come to Maryland Heights. The school system is served by the Pattonville School District , which is an award-winning school district in Missouri. Parkway School District also serves some of the residents in Maryland Heights.
