A city as rich in history as St. Augustine, it has plenty of options for keeping you and your whole family entertained - especially during the summer time. Whether it is running around and playing with animals, or visiting the fort by the sea, your local St. Augustine movers have narrowed it down to our favorite and most fun places to visit when in Florida's oldest city.

  1. St. Augustine Wild Reserve. A non-profit corporation as a rescue center for unwanted exotic animals, with the goal of educating the general public about ownership of exotic animals in order to prevent any future mistreatment. Totaling seven acres, those who go to visit are allowed 5-10 feet within their exotic animals - which include tigers, cougars, servals, lynxes, leopards and wolves.

  2. St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum. Overlooking the Matanzas River and the Castillo de San Marcos, the St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum offer summer camps where your kids can learn pirate themed games and learn the real history of pirates. Not only that, but they also offer an Archaeology Camp where kids learn about the scientific background of digging up the past as well as participate in their own dig party!

  3. St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park. Over 100 years old, the Alligator Farm Zoological Park is the only facility in the world exhibiting living specimens of all 23 currently recognized species of crocodilian. They also have exhibits featuring albino alligators, birds of Africa, exotic birds and mammals, a Florida Native Reptile & Amphibian House, Fossil Exhibit, Komodo Dragon Exhibit, Python Exhibit, Red-Ruffed Lemurs, and a Wading Bird Rookery. Needless to say, the whole family will be more than entertained!

  4. St. Augustine Potter's Wax Museum. The first established wax museum in the United States, Potter's Wax Museum has over 150 wax figures with over 50 years of history! Definitely a family-friendly attraction, the museum offers a surreal experience with famous Hollywood stars, professional athletes and political figures.

  5. St. Augustine Amphitheatre. Built in 1965 to celebrate St. Augustine's 400th Anniversary as the nation's oldest permanent European settlement, the amphitheater covers an extensive 16 acres. Each season they offer numerous performances to visit as well - upcoming this summer includes Third Eye Blind, dance performances by Julianna Hough & Derek Hough, Modest Mouse, Rob Thomas, Rick Springfield and Little Big Town.

  6. St. Augustine's Oldest Wooden School House. Built over 200 years ago while Florida was still under Spanish Imperial rule, the oldest wooden schoolhouse in America is located right in St. Augustine. Take your kids on a tour so they can see how schools used to be, as well as educate them about Florida's history in a fun and entertaining way.
