Best Summer Activities Ocala

Moving anywhere in the middle of summer can leave you wondering how you will keep your kids entertained throughout the process. After all, how are they supposed to make new friends while school is out and everyone is likely away on summer vacation? Well, you can stop worrying because there is still plenty of fun to be had! Your local Ocala movers have come up with a list of the best summer activities in Ocala that will make moving to Ocala during the summer breeze by, and before you know it, you will be sending your kids off to their new school!

  1. Silver Springs. A favorite among Ocala locals and tourists since the 1800's, Silver Springs boasts one of the largest masses of freshwater springs in the area. Here, your kids will hardly run out of exciting activities to do. Your kids can choose to go on a jungle cruise, learn more about animals at live animal exhibits, explore the botanical gardens, play on the playground, make new friends at the petting zoo, go on a jeep safari ride, learn what is underneath the water on a glass-bottom boat ride or attend one of the many country music concerts. Regardless of the activities they choose, they will not run out of options on this 350-acre complex, and they will have so much fun they will forget the stress of moving to a new city.

  2. Wild Waters Waterpark. What better way to cool off after moving than by taking your kids to a waterpark? They offer something for every age group as well, between a play lagoon for the younger kids, a shallow toddler area, a massive wave pool, several high-energy flumes and multiple waterslides. As if that would not be enough to keep your kids entertained for the whole summer, Wild Waters Waterpark also has an arcade, plenty of food options and multiple volleyball courts.

  3. Ocala National Forest. Spread across more than 383,000 acres, there is no better place in Ocala to make sure that your kids get out all of their extra energy. At the national forest, there is everything to do; from: fishing, canoeing, snorkeling, boating, swimming, and trail-riding on horseback. There are also numerous summer camps that back up to the forest, which is also a fantastic way for your kids to make new friends after you move to Ocala. If your family is a fan of camping, there are multiple campsites throughout the forest that will allow you to really get to know your new town.

  4. Ocala Carriage & Tours. Not familiar with horses? Well, considering that Ocala is a horse town, it is easy to change that fairly quickly! A great way to get better acquainted with your Ocala movers' hobby of choice, is to take a tour of the town by horse-drawn carriage. You can take a tour some of the area's best horse farms and even decide if you want to enroll in horse-back riding lessons along the way.
