Festivals and Events in Corpus Christi

When it comes to the benefits of living in Corpus, the benefits are endless. There is always something to do, there is always something to see, and there are always people to spend your days with. The wonderful Sparkling City was recently rated among the happiest places in the nation, and local residents won’t hesitate to go on about why they love it so much. The laid back atmosphere and beachy vibes that come from the town make anyone feel at home, and the food can comfort even the pickiest eater. Part of the draw to Corpus is the sense of community. With all of the festivals and events that are going on year round you can really get a feel for Corpus Christians.

Some of the best festivals are the ones that you wouldn’t expect to be great. Not that any of them would seem boring, but sometimes you can be surprised at what you find. By far the most popular festival is Buc Days. It has been around since 1938 and is probably the biggest event that is all about Corpus and all of its inhabitants. It is put on by the Buccaneer Commission which is a non-profit organization that has put on the festival every year since 1938. It is held to celebrate Corpus’ educational, cultural, and entertaining events. Buc Days takes place in April, and then at the beginning of May there is the Buc Days Parade. Good luck finding anyone in town that doesn’t attend the parade. It is a big deal to a Corpus Christian.

Another big annual festival is the Jazz festival that takes place every October. It has been around for ages, and it takes place in the beautiful Heritage Park every year. A bunch of local bands come together and play jazz for the entire weekend, as people walk around and listen to their melodic tunes. Not to worry, it isn’t just the music. Food trucks flock to the festival to keep everyone happy and full. As things start to cool down in October, there is no better a way to spend a weekend than at the Jazz Festival.

The first Friday of every month Corpus has the art walk. It takes place downtown and showcases local artists and vendors. The city is trying to revitalize downtown, and this is the perfect way to do it. People set up tables with their homemade goodies and the food trucks always set up camp right next door. There are always bands playing, and everyone comes together to celebrate each other. It is a great experience.

Living in Corpus is something that everyone should consider at some point. It is a life changing experience in the best possible way. If you are thinking of moving to Corpus Christi, contact our expert movers at All My Sons to help get you relocated.
