A true October experience in Charlotte that can not be missed! For 44 years now, the OctoberTour is one of the oldest and most historic tours in the South. The tour features over 200 houses and historic properties in the Salisbury and Rowan County. Just about every local in Charlotte has done this tour at least once when it rolls around for two days (Saturday and Sunday). Tickets can be bought online, and there will be a break from the tour in which you can enjoy food, entertainment, and craft vendors at the Banks Café.1

Carolina Renaissance Festival

Come and see the annual Carolina Renaissance Festival only happening in October. A true experience that can not be missed! Visitors will be able to experience the 16th century and all its glory, meaning you can dress, drink and eat foods that were famous during this time period. Happening about 15 miles away from the city of Charlotte, this event is the perfect way to spend your October in Charlotte without breaking the bank. Adults and children are both welcome to attend the event. With all the live entertainment that is promised during the event, there will be something for everyone.2

Fall Farm Festivities

Enjoy the cool weather and fall festivities by apple picking. Charlotte in October has plenty of local farms that offer this seasonal treat. Families, local farm supporters or anyone who wants to experience picking a fresh apple from the tree should come and see what the fuss is all about.  

Another great fall farm festivity in October in Charlotte is the corn maze at the Hall Family Farm. This 5-acre corn maze is open to kids and adults. Plus, to even get into the whole fall feel you can get a pumpkin to start at 64 cents per pound. As an added bonus because the temperatures start to dip in Charlotte in October, there will be a bonfire you can rent at the Hall Family Farm for two hours at 60 dollars. There are also plenty of kid activities which are free, and refreshments will be available.3
