Or, maybe you are a Corpus Christi local looking to expand your horizons and go on an impromptu adventure with your family for a couple of days. Regardless of the reason, your Victoria movers have a list of sure-fire ways to make your summer that much more fun.

• The Texas Zoo

  . Extremely affordable and packed with summer events, the Texas Zoo has something to offer for everyone. Choose between their Earth Day Celebration, Reptile Weekend, Breakfast with Beast, Native American Cultural Event and Cowboys and Coyotes – or better yet, take your family to all of them! You can even “adopt” animals – from peacocks to lemurs to alligators!

• Fine Arts Center

  . A local community favorite, what better way to kick off the summer than by attending a concert or play at the locally run performance arts center? You can even opt to leave the kids at home and enjoy a night watching bands like “Three Dog Night”.

• Riverside Park

  . Boasting over 562 acres, surrounded by 4 ½ miles of the Guadalupe River, this is the ideal location to let your kids run around after packing and moving. Pack a picnic and choose from one of the 200 picnic tables throughout the park, or make a trip when the sun goes down and spend some time making s’mores with the whole family. There is even a public boat ramp, a canoe & kayak paddling trail, exercise trail, disc golf course, duck pond, baseball, softball and playground facilities. Don’t forget to stop by the Rose Garden where there are over 1,050 rose bushes among fountains, gazebos, and walkways.

• Victoria Paddling Trip

  . Made up of four trails that total 25 miles, this is a great way to see wildlife in their natural habitat – and maybe even do some fishing along the way. Get your waterproof cameras ready to capture sights of animals; like: bald eagles, osprey, hawks, turkeys, deer and armadillos. Don’t worry about bringing your own gear either – you can rent canoes, kayaks and paddleboards when you get there.

• Coleto Creek Park & Reservoir

  . A 190 acre park is every camper’s dream. Bring your own camper or pitch your own tent – there’s plenty to do with the whole family. There will be plenty of time to make friends and play on the park’s volleyball courts, horseshoe pit and playgrounds. For the more adventurous members of the family, the park offers its own 6 mile long mountain bike trail. And of course, what would summer be without some water sports? Plan on going swimming, fishing and water skiing during this trip.
