All My Sons Moving

Everybody wants to save money in as many ways as they can, even when it comes to moving! We completely understand, so we've come up with a few ways to help save you some money during your move to Charleston!

Hire a Mover

Maybe it's not a major surprise that a moving company is telling you to hire a mover for your move, but maybe it comes as a surprise that hiring a mover may save you a couple bucks. Think about it: after calculating all the costs for doing it all yourself along the way, they add up! In many cases, a self-move can cost very close to, if not equal to or more than the cost of hiring movers. As well, the amount of stress is much greater and the amount of time the move takes is much longer than what it would take a team of professional movers in Charleston.

Use Packing Materials You Already Have

There's a high likelihood you have some boxes stored away or at least a few plastic tote bins or even a chest you can fill up with some of your belongings. You can also inquire of your local supermarket or liquor store for boxes they may still have and are ready to just throw away. Normally, these boxes aren't quite big enough for a great deal of things, but they are something! They certainly help. But be sure to check those boxes and make sure that they are sturdy enough to handle what you're filling them up with!

Likewise, you may have old magazines, newspapers, or papers you no longer need still lying around, or perhaps even wrapping paper. Use these paper products just as you would use packing paper. Wrap glassware and fragile items, fill them, pad your boxes for them, fill the spaces in between. This way, you can keep your items safe and secure!

Get Rid of What You Don't Need

This is one of the most effective ways to save money. As a matter of fact, you can even make money getting rid of some of the things you don't need. You can take to E-Bay, Offer-Up, LetGo, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist or yard/garage sales, sell stuff to friends and family for pretty cheap—it's a great way to take in a couple bucks and either spend it on a cheaper move, or put it away for future savings!
