What’s Reopening in Jacksonville, FL After COVID-19 Quarantine?

The coronavirus has caused numerous businesses to suspend operations across the nation for the last two months and many Americans are anxious for things to get back to normal again. Living in Florida, it is weird to skip the beach on a beautiful spring day or avoid your favorite restaurant for brunch on the weekends. More and more states, though, are considering the possibility of opening up to the public again. Reopening Jacksonville in different phases allows businesses to prepare for a new normal, operating at limited capacity and putting additional sanitation measures in place to keep the coronavirus pandemic at bay.

On May 4, 2020, Governor DeSantis announced phase 1 plan to reopen Florida. As long as certain measures are taken and restrictions adhered to, restaurants and churches will be allowed to open their doors again and elective surgeries can resume. Phase 1 reopening in Florida also includes parks, beaches, golf courses, and other outdoor recreational facilities.

Phase 2 Jacksonville Reopening

Reopening Jacksonville Phase 2 was set to start on May 11, 2020. Our Jacksonville residential movers are excited about eating at their favorite restaurants and visiting the theme parks as they reopen during this second phase. Other establishments allowed to reopen in Jacksonville during phase 2 include:

Bars, Pubs, and Nightclubs
These locations will be part of the Jacksonville reopening phase 2, operating at 50% capacity. Patrons must practice social distancing and there can be no more than 10 people in a group.

Restaurants
Restaurants will be open to the public and operating at 75% capacity. Most of the tables in the restaurants will be located outside and there will be limited use of salad bars and buffets.

Large Sporting Events
Sports are scheduled to make a comeback in Florida during phase 2 of Jacksonville’s reopening. The events will also operate at 50% capacity and social distancing is required.

Theme Parks
There will be a chance to have some family fun again as theme parks are also on the list of places set to open during phase 2 of Jacksonville reopening. Visitors can expect capacity limits and strict social distancing protocols.

Gyms and Fitness Centers
If you are feeling like you have put on some weight during quarantine, worry no more. Phase 2 of Jacksonville reopening includes gyms, which will be able to operate at a 75% capacity. Gym goers can expect strict social distancing rules and equipment sanitation.

Movie Theaters, Concert Halls, Bowling Alleys and Arcades
Entertainment venues are expected to resume operations during phase 2 of Jacksonville reopening. The venues will operate at 75% capacity and allow no more than 10 people in a group.

Salons, Barbershops, and Nail salons
Personal grooming businesses will also be back during phase 2 of Jacksonville reopening. They will be able to operate at 75% capacity with no additional restrictions.

Retail Stores
Malls will once again open their doors at 75% capacity. Customers are expected to continue practicing social distancing.

Beaches and State Parks
Beaches and state parks are also expected to resume hosting visitors during phase 2 of Jacksonville reopening. These locations will be fully open with no restrictions, but our movers in Jacksonville still encourage everyone to keep their distance and take precautionary measures.
