Living In Downtown Memphis South Downtown

Downtown Memphis is a bustling and beautiful part of town that is filled with dynamic people, exciting events, and unique businesses. If you’re contemplating a move to Memphis, you should certainly look into the downtown area for your next place to call home. There are several neighborhoods sectioned off within downtown, and the Memphis movers are going to help you find one that’s just right for you. In this article, we will examine South Downtown.

The South Main Historic District has lately had a second wind as a renovated residential and commercial hotspot. Once deemed an industrial area, developers have now turned the neighborhood into a prime place to live. The South Main Historic District is home to residential lofts, art galleries, boutiques, and local restaurants. It’s a great area to live if you want an active social life and want to be within walking distance of some great events such as the South Main Trolley Night, a party that occurs that last Friday of each month.

The Warehouse District is not as commercial and cold as its name would lead you to believe. The Warehouse District connects central downtown to the south, and it is filled with new condominium towers and residential space. It’s a great location if you would like to be centrally located between the Downtown Core and the South Main scenes.

South Bluffs is a neighborhood that has been created with the family in mind. Apartments and single family homes are adjacent to parks and riverfront views, and the community is conveniently located a few blocks from Main Street. If you’re over the loft-style living scene but still want to be near the action, we suggest you check out South Bluffs.

Last, the South End is an up-and-coming residential spot. With its proximity to the Mississippi River and the open lots of undeveloped land and trees, the South End is a cozy and welcoming neighborhood that’s quickly become a residential area due to the condos, apartments, and homes that have sprung up over the past few years.

Be sure to check back and read about the North area of downtown, so you can truly get a feel of which part of Downtown is the right place for you and your loved ones.
