Questions to Ask Movers Before Hiring Them

Everyone wants a good, honest moving company to make sure their move goes efficiently and falls within budget. With All My Sons Moving & Storage of South Atlanta, you will get a good, honest mover, and we will make sure your move is successful, efficient, and worth every penny. We won’t allow you to spend a dime more than what is really needed for your move. We understand you have to inquire of multiple moving services but remember to ask the important questions.

Are You Licensed & Insured?

If the company you’re asking is hesitant to answer this question or says no, it’s already time to move on and find the next mover. Trust us, without licenses and insurance, it’s not worth the potential headache. If they claim to be insured and licensed, have them provide you with valid license numbers and insurance information, otherwise, you may want to inquire of another mover.

The mover should be licensed and insured within the particular state in which you’re moving. If they also offer national moving services, they should be licensed with the US Dept. of Transportation and have insurance that covers national transportation.

 Do You Have References?

You want your mover to be able to provide solid references. They should be able to tell you about Google reviews, their reputation with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), as well as whether they are a member of the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) and what their reputation within the organization is.

Do You Have Binding Quotes or Not-to-Exceed Estimates?

You may prefer a binding quote for your move to South Atlanta. Many movers offer binding quotes, which offer services for a set price. But keep in mind that if you make changes after signing the contract, you will have to agree upon a change to your contract, and this may incur extra fees.

A not-to-exceed estimate, or a non-binding contract, is subject to change and depends on actual costs of the move. This means that your cost will depend on the time the movers take, the bulk weight of the move, negotiation of stairs and elevators, long-carry fees if applicable, and other possible fees. A non-binding contract could potentially save you money, but it very well may cost you more than you’d like to pay.

Other Questions You May Want Answered.

How long will the move take?
