First Class Entertainment. Salt Lake City has it covered when it comes to music. Some of your favorite bands and musical acts hail from town; like Imagine Dragons, the Used, Neon Trees and Kaskade. If that is not enough, each summer, some of the industry’s most popular acts perform at the Twilight Concert Series. The concert series runs throughout summer and is held at Pioneer Park. The park sure does get packed, and for good reason: recent acts include Lauryn Hill, the Wu Tang Clan, Beck, MGMT and Ludacris. Tickets are very cheap (usually $5), but they sell out incredibly fast, so plan ahead! If movies are more your thing, than Salt Lake City is a great place to be. Ever heard of the Sundance Film Festival? The annual independent film festival, which was established in 1978, is partially hosted in Salt Lake City.
The unique outdoor landscape. Salt Lake City is full of natural beauty. There are dozens of mountain ranges in Utah, and several of them run close to Salt Lake City. Nearby Wasatch and Oquirrh mountain ranges have created streams and canyons that add to the city’s beauty and are perfect for mountain biking, hiking and camping. In the winter, Salt Lake City is covered in a blanket of some of the prettiest snow you have ever seen. The lack of moisture in the snow makes it perfect for snow sports. There are several first-rate ski resorts nearby, which make Salt Lake City a skiing and snowboarding mecca.
Another unique aspect of Salt Lake City’s outdoors are the Bonneville Salt Flats. These vast salt flats are just densely packed salt pans, but they are quite a site to see. Races like Speed Week and the Motorcycle Speed Trials are held here too. Speaking of salt, the Great Salt Lake, for which the city is named, is yet another outdoor destination in town. Its salt density is two to five times higher than the ocean’s, so you can easily float. You might even see some wild buffalo roaming around the park! And did we forget to mention that Utah is America’s national park capital? There are seven national parks in the state, including Zion National Park, Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Once you are settled in, take the family for an unforgettable road trip.
City Perks. Salt Lake City offers its residents plenty of perks. Several community organizations host movie night during the summer. In parks throughout the city, you and your family can enjoy movies projected on huge screens. And if you decide to take the family downtown for some exploring, you can ride the Light Rail for free!
While moving to a new place can be stressful, and even scary, your Salt Lake City movers know that you will quickly adapt and appreciate all that Salt Lake City has to offer.
