Keeping Kids Entertained During the Coronavirus

Schools are closed and parents are working from home, all thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Though in the beginning, many parents were thankful to have the extra time to spend with their families, as the days of quarantine go on and the school year comes to a close, keeping kids entertained during quarantine is becoming more difficult. All the activities that seemed new and exciting have lost their magic now that we are past day 60 of sheltering in place.

If you are wondering how to continue keeping kids entertained during quarantine, our local Raleigh movers can help!

What to Do with Your Kids During Coronavirus Closures

In the age of screens, many parents are doing their best to keep their kid’s screen time usage low. However, when your kids are locked inside the house with you and you still have deadlines to meet for work, giving into the screen time may not be such a bad idea!  Our Raleigh movers suggest finding a series of educational and interactive videos your kids can watch when you need to focus on work or take an important call.

Another great way of keeping kids entertained during quarantine is to create a list of activities that your kids can choose from daily. Make it even more of a game by offering a prize if they complete the entire list or a set portion of the list. If you have older kids at home, these project ideas may come in handy:

Mattel’s Digital Playroom
Find games, DIY projects, and printable activities to encourage creativity, learning, and fun!

Puzzle Races
If you have some puzzles laying around, challenge your kids to a puzzle race. See who can finish their task first – you with your list of emails or them with their puzzle.

LEGO Creations
Do your kids have LEGOs? Print out a LEGO creation for you kids and see if they are able to build it!

Kid-Friendly Exercise
YouTube has innumerable kid-friendly exercises that will keep your little ones focused and healthy during quarantine.

Make Slime
Two simple ingredients are all you need when you’re keeping kids entertained during quarantine: water and corn starch. Add some food coloring of their choice. You have slime!

Sidewalk Art
A great way to keep your kids entertained and get yourself outside simply involves some chalk. If your work is portable, hang outside on a nice day with your kids. While you work, they can create sidewalk art! As a bonus, it’ll make a neighbor’s day on their daily walks outside!
