Dining Out for Thanksgiving 2019

The holidays are always a great time to celebrate with family and loved ones. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, the Louisville movers of All My Sons Moving & Storage wants to share a few of the places to dine out for Thanksgiving. Not everyone enjoys spending time in the kitchen making Thanksgiving dinner; some people would rather spend the morning being lazy in their pajamas, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The Louisville local movers know there are a lot of restaurants that close in Louisville on Thanksgiving Day so employees can spend time with their families. However, for those who prefer to spend Thanksgiving dining out, there are places that keep their doors open and welcome you and your family.

Where to Dine Out for Thanksgiving in Louisville

If you’re thinking about changing up your holiday traditions this year, perhaps you should consider the following places to dine out for Thanksgiving.  Whether you want dinner with a view on the Ohio River or the spectacle of a horse race while you eat, there’s always an option you and your family will love.

Captain’s Quarters Riverside Grill
This restaurant is located on the banks of the Ohio River and offers beautiful views from the dining room and outdoor patio. At Captain’s Quarters Riverside Grill, you and your family can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving spread, presented in a buffet style. Reservations are required prior to arrival at the event and a small fee is taken to reserve your table, but Captain’s Quarters Riverside Grill is certainly one of the prettiest places to dine out for Thanksgiving dinner.

If the dining experience on land is not what you’re looking for, Captain’s Quarters Riverside Grill also has a Thanksgiving Cruise. Spend 3 hours on the Ohio River and enjoy a sampling of the holiday buffet from the Riverside Grill.

Churchill Downs
Its no Kentucky Derby but you can visit Churchill Downs on Thanksgiving Day for dinner and witness a live 12-horse race. Enjoy a traditional buffet-style Thanksgiving dinner between 11am–4pm at any of the dining locations in the Churchill Downs complex.

The English Grill and J. Graham’s Café at the Brown Hotel
If you’re looking for more formal places to dine out for Thanksgiving dinner, the Louisville residential movers recommend the English Grill. The four-star restaurant hosts their Thanksgiving feast from 11:30am–4:30pm and will feature more than just your traditional Thanksgiving spread. Enjoy shrimp cocktail, Jonah crab claws, oysters, assorted hearth bread, and more!

For a more casual Thanksgiving experience at the Brown Hotel, visit J. Graham’s Café. Choose an assortment of breakfast items such as breakfast casserole, Belgian waffles, and made to order omelets in addition to roasted turkey, cornbread stuffing, and sweet potato casserole at their brunch buffet from 10am–2pm.

Mary M. Miller Thanksgiving Lunch Cruise
Rather than going to any of the traditional places to dine out for Thanksgiving, why not set sail for a fabulous meal on the water? You will want to make reservations for the Mary M. Miller Thanksgiving Lunch Cruise for a delightful experience. From 1– 3pm on Thanksgiving Day, cruise down the Ohio River and savor all the wonderful dishes in the traditional Thanksgiving buffet with a spectacular view of the Louisville waterfront.

Proof on Main
Among the more unique places to dine out for Thanksgiving, Proof on Main features beautiful works of art patrons admire as they dine. Their a la carte Thanksgiving menu features some of the traditional dishes people love with a twist. Reserve a table in advance or try your luck and swing by from 2–8pm and make it a memorable Thanksgiving.

Sway
If you want to celebrate in the morning because you have other Thanksgiving dinners to attend or you’re traveling later in the day, Sway at the Hyatt Regency is one of the perfect places to dine out for Thanksgiving. Sway hosts a Thanksgiving brunch with classic Thanksgiving favorites, seasonal entrees, and amazing desserts. Reserve a table for this fantastic Thanksgiving meal between 11am and 5pm and celebrate with loved ones.
