Organization is your home (and in your life) is a key element to combating stress and anxiety. When everything is organized, your household runs more smoothly and life seems to be a little easier in a sense. Don’t be jealous of organized people—become one! The Baton Rouge movers will help you learn how.

Have a clear plan for what you want. Whether it’s decorating your home, starting a family, or buying a house—know what you want to achieve, and when.

Get comfortable saying no. Don’t overwhelm yourself by taking on too many responsibilities that you really don’t have time for.

Give everything its own place. When you are done using something, put it away. Before you buy anything new, know where you are going to put it.

Let each room have a purpose. Set up rooms with a clear mission—an office, a den, a study, and so forth. If rooms are going to serve multiple purposes, create stations in the room delegated to a different thing.

Buy less stuff! Not everyone is a minimalist—and that’s ok. Be wary of buying impulse items on sale or accepting things that are free. If you don’t need it, don’t indulge.

Label. There is no shame in using a label maker and clearly marking Tupperware bins and boxes. Save yourself that hassle of hunting through unmarked bins and know exactly where those Christmas decorations are when you need them.

Keep counters clean. Clutter on the counters is a quick way to look like a hoarder. If you use it every day, you get to keep it out, if you don’t then put it away. However, keeping a drawer of everyday items is even better.

Use multifunctional furniture. Ottomans with storage, floor length mirrors with jewelry storage and coffee tables with drawers for stashing remotes and magazines out of sight.

Use space from top to bottom. Small closets can be maximized with floor shelving and cubbies. Utilize unused space this way. Also, utilizing the inside of closet doors and cabinets can be useful in the bathroom and laundry room.

Get rid of duplicate items. You don’t need two vacuum cleaners, or even two coffeemakers. Purge duplicates and watch your home open up.

Set up a home office. This will be the designated place for files, bills, records, and other documents.

Keep cleaning. Reassess what you still have and clean things out regularly. Clutter is not only reserved to garbage and papers, it can be near empty candles you should toss, DVDs that remain unwatched, and so on.
