Denver, Colorado is one of the biggest up and coming, thriving, progressive cities in the nation. There are tons of outdoor recreational activities, an ideal climate, and beautiful mountain views. Cherry Creek is located within Denver, and is very popular with empty-nesters. It is known for its luxury housing, high end shopping, and its diverse art world. Consisting mainly of condos and town homes, Cherry Creek is popular among the over thirty age group. Not to say that there aren't plenty of young professionals that are making lives for themselves. Broomfield is the typical suburb. It is located right outside Denver, and it has good schools and is a family friendly place. The McWhinney Company of Loveland just announced the development of 973 acres at the southwest corner of highway 7 and interstate 25. The plans include 175 acres set aside for a research center, 17.2 million square feet dedicated to commercial use, and 7,313 residential units to be built over the next 10 to 15 years. It is the epitome of a growing suburb, and is the perfect place to settle down with a family.

Littleton is by far one of the better suburbs in the Denver area. It has been around since 1890, and is still thriving. Although Littleton got some negative press when the Columbine shootings took place in the same zip code, the shootings were not actually in Littleton. Littleton has some of the best schools in the nation, receiving awards regularly for their academic excellence. Cherry Creek School District and Littleton Public Schools are the two districts that serve the area, and both are well renowned for their exceptional performance. Cherry Creek send over 93% of its graduates to college, and five Littleton elementary schools received the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award in 2004. On top of having some of the best schools in the nation, Littleton also has a new $11 million, 54,000 square-foot, Douglas H. Buck Community Recreation Center that has anything that anyone could ever want in a recreation center. In terms of raising a family, Littleton is definitely the place to be.

Denver is a great place to be these days. It has an unemployment rate of 5.4%, some of the best public schools in the entire country, and an ideal climate. The rest of the country needs to take notes from Denver, because they've got this successful city thing down pat.
