5 Ways to Repurpose Old Ski Equipment

West Valley City movers at All My Sons Moving & Storage know skiing is a big part of life in Utah. Whether you were born and raised in the state or relocated to Utah, chances are you’ve hit the slopes at one point or another at one the many ski resorts: Sundance, Brian Head, Eagle Point, Brighton, Park City, Snowbird, Solitude, Beaver, Alta, Snowbasin, or Wolf Mountain.

Over the years, as you enhance your skiing skills, you are likely to outgrow, lose, break, or wear out pairs of skis, eventually accumulating a pile of unused ski equipment. If your old or outgrown ski equipment is taking up space and you are not quite ready to part with it forever, West Valley City movers suggest repurposing old skip equipment with these examples:

Build a customized fence

Fences are expensive. If you’ve got plenty of old skip equipment lying around, you can create a unique, customized, colorful fence around your yard. If you don’t have enough to make an entire fence, trying making one wall of the fence out of skis, or building the entrance gate to your backyard from old ski equipment.

Ski Pole Wind Chime

Cut old ski poles into different lengths and hang them closely together outside to create a ski pole wind chime. Giving different diameters and lengths to the poles will help create different notes for a pleasant sound.

Create an Adirondack Chair

Adirondack chairs are great for relaxing, and often found all over ski towns. Lay skis together closely to create the back support on an Adirondack chair. With left overs, make an end table or foot rest.

Make a Shot Ski

This is the easiest way to repurpose old skip equipment. Shot Skis are a fun way to take shots and play games at events or parties. All you need is one old or outgrown ski, and a few shot glasses. Using hot glue, place each shot glass a few inches apart from each other. This way, a group of friends can all take a shot at one time using the Shot Ski.

Use Ski Boots as Flower Pots

This is a simple and fast way to repurpose old ski equipment. Plus, it adds color to your yard! Fill old ski boots with dirt and plant flowers inside them, and cut holes in the sides and bottom for drainage. Try using different sizes and colors for variation.

Also, consider making coat racks, wine racks, picture frames, and ski furniture.
