West Haven At A Glance

All My Sons Walks You Through the Streets of West Haven

West Haven, Connecticut was settled in 1648 and was originally known as West Farms. It was part as the New Haven Colony but became a separate parish of West Haven in 1719. During the American Revolution, West Haven was the frequent launch and arrival point for raiding parties on both sides of the war. This beautiful city played a major role in so many different things which have shaped it into the place that it is today. Moving to West Haven is sure to be a good idea!

All My Sons Moving & Storage is happy to be your trusted movers and we're excited to help make your move to West Haven go smoothly. West Haven is such a wonderful, interesting place and has been from the start. The main commercial street, Campbell Avenue, is named for William Campbell. Campbell was a British Adjutant who rescued the Reverend Noah Williston from being hanged due to his outspokenness.

Several failed attempts at incorporation led West Haven to join with North Milford and form Orange, which was incorporated in 1822. West Haven wanted more though so, in 1921 it split from Orange to become a separate town successfully incorporated in 1961. Ironically, West Haven is known as “Connecticut’s Youngest City” but is actually one of the state’s oldest settlements!
