Cannonsburgh Village – This historic village is the perfect attraction to visit if you are interested in learning about the way people lived in Murfreesboro and the South from 1830 to the mid-1930s. Cannonsburgh Village allows visitors to tour a gristmill, old schoolhouse, the telephone operator’s house, a wedding chapel, a caboose from an original train and much more! This park is open May 1st – December 1st and although guided tours are closed December through April, the grounds are still open to the public. This 8th generation family Farm is located in the Black man community of Rutherford county and is open to the public on Fridays from 2-6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 1p.m. Visitors are welcome to tour the farm’s retail store where they are given the opportunity to purchase a variety of pork, dairy, honey, jam, sauce and egg products from different local family farms.
