About Anne Arundel County

Annapolis is the capital of Maryland and the county seat of Anne Arundel County. It's best known for the Chesapeake Bay, delicious steamed crabs and crab cakes and maritime history and heritage. Annapolis is a great place to live with many historical sites to visit, museums to explore, fun-filled activities take part in and countless more offerings for its residents. Here's a list of some of the must-see places:

The Annapolis Maritime Museum: This museum sits on the shores of Back Creek with beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay. It's also the site of the last remaining oyster packing plant in the area, called McNasby's Oyster Packing Company. This museum offers a waterfront educational facility, exhibition galleries, concerts, lectures, tours and children's activities.

Annapolis Symphony Orchestra: With 49 years of excellence, the ASO is recognized as the largest and most distinguished performing arts organization in Annapolis. Performances include classic, pops, family and special gala concerts. The ASO also offers a free Summer Series concert where it joins forces with the United States Naval Academy and collaborates with other art organizations in ballet, opera and choral music.

Sport Fishing: The Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing company prides itself on being a first-class Chesapeake Bay fishing charter seven days a week during fishing season, typically from April to the end of December. You can bring your own food or arrange for them to provide a mean and drinks. They can also help you with fish cleaning services at the end of your day. If you don't feel like fishing, a sightseeing sunset cruise is also available.

Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts: This cultural center provides a wide range of arts-related programming for all ages and all levels attracting more than 5,000 students every year. The center also puts on shows like art exhibits, musical theatre, pop and rock concerts and more. If you live in Annapolis, this place provides a great community to join.
