A few tips on saving money on your local and long distance moves.
1) Be Organized - Know what is moving and where you want it to go. This will keep the mover and you on the same page, while reducing your moving time. This keeps your movers from standing around and the overall confusion that can come with a move.
2) When Packing - Make sure that the items are properly placed in the box and if necessary use newprint to wrap and protect. The box should have no empty space. Fill the box completely to ensure it won't cave in when being dollied or loaded. This process will also reduce the chance of damages.
