Summer moving…are we there yet?

The 2005 comedy, “Are We There Yet,” featured a couple of kids on a journey with a somewhat negligible guardian and family-friend.  The children were subjected to extreme situations that attempted to abort their arrival to their destination.  Ultimately the kids arrived, but not without a few bumps and scratches.   There’s nothing worse than having something that is precious to you harmed in any way.

Much like the comedy, moving can be a volatile situation if not handled by a professional moving and storage company.  Most families move in the summer to avoid interrupting their kid’s school year.  Are you moving this summer?  While this is a good time to move for families, moving companies are generally pretty busy this time of year.  I recommend booking your move ASAP.  Call or go online to find at least three to five reputable moving companies and begin obtaining quotes.  Hire a moving company that is skilled and backed by years of experience and “are we there yet” won’t be a question in your mind for your moving company.    Primarily because professional moving companies arrive on time and your belongings remain in one piece.

Once you’ve secured your summer move, begin discarding unnecessary items.  Host a spring garage sale or post your items on eBay or craigslist for sale.  This will assist with scaling down your belongings.  Your moving coordinator will also provide you with a list of helpful resources to aid you in preparing for your summer relocation.  At this stage, packing of items that won’t be used is a good idea.  Your moving company can supply you with their professional packing materials to ensure maximum safety of your belongings.  Your moving coordinator will also go over your moving plan so when moving day arrives your packing and loading process will flow unhindered.

Summer moving can be a joy if you follow the direction of a topnotch moving company.  Their years of experience in the industry will be the difference between an excellent summer move and a bad one.
