Forbes Magazine, one of the top business periodicals, rated the Raleigh metropolitan area #1 Best Places for Businesses and Careers. The city is a part of North Carolina’s Research Triangle, which is one of top areas in the United States for biotech research and high-tech companies. The University of North Carolina/ Chapel Hill, Duke, North Carolina State and Wake Forest are all located near Raleigh and are partially responsible for the highly educated workforce, in addition to having a substantial economic impact on the area. Arts and Culture

Another reason to move to Raleigh is that it is an artistic and cultural mecca; the city has a number of world class museums. In 1997, Raleigh’s North Carolina Museum of Art celebrated its 50th anniversary and is also free to all visitors. The city has a 152 mile greenway system that features many trails for biking, walking, jogging and hiking and also connects many of the city’s parks. Climate

The weather in Raleigh is relatively mild year round. Spring and summer temperatures usually range from the 60’s to 80’s. In fall the temperatures are usually in the 70’s and winters temperatures are typically don’t fall below the 20’s and may get as high as the 50’s. This climate allows resident to participate in outdoor sports like golf year round.

It’s Near Great Beaches

The Atlantic Ocean is the eastern boundary of North Carolina and there are many lovely beaches along the coast. Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach are both approximately 2 hours from Raleigh. The famous Outer Banks beaches are a little further and most are a three to four hour drive.
