Modesto was originally founded in 1870 and was a stop on the railroad connecting Sacramento to Las Vegas. Even in the beginning, Modesto played a large part in developing California. Rising up from a population of only 1,693 in 1880 to a staggering 209,936 residents in 2008, Modesto is definitely the place to be! There is no better way to move to Modesto than with All My Sons Moving & Storage!

Because of its fertile farmland, Modesto is one of the largest agricultural industries. Modesto began with only about 25 buildings and has blossomed into the wonderful city that it is today. One of the main attractions of Modesto is the downtown Modesto Arch. This illuminating arch holds 668 lights, stands 25 feet high at its center, and spans 75 feet across I Street! It’s definitely a sight to see when you move to Modesto.

Modesto has been a community dedicated to growth, progress, and the quality of community life from its earliest days. Just like All My Sons has been dedicated to customer satisfaction, great service, and a quality, Modesto-style move. Modesto was know as the “most metropolitan and classy [city] of its size in California.” There is no wonder why you are calling Modesto your new home!

Although the real origins behind where Modesto got its name were destroyed in the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, the most popular theory has been accepted as fact. It states that the people of Modesto wanted to name the city after the town’s founder, William C. Ralston. He politely declined and it was remarked that he had been very “modesto,” which is the Spanish word for modest. And thus a town is born. The people of Modesto have tried ever since to live up to that name. Your Modesto movers at All My Sons Moving & Storage are proud to be a part of your move to Modesto.
