Germ-iest Places At Home

There are germs everywhere from your workplace to your house, with some areas around your home sweet home worse than others. For example, your bed sheets in your bedroom are a hot spot. Think about it, every night when you climb into bed you bring in all of the germs you came into contact with during that day. Most of these germs are harmless and can even strengthen your immune system. Also, as we sleep we deposit sweat, more bacteria and even skin residue that can make the bed sheets even more a hotspot for germs. The Maryland movers suggest you change your bed sheets once a week, make sure to wash them in hot water when you’re doing the laundry.

The kitchen sink is another area that can get pretty germy around the house. There’s typically a lot of dirt in a sink, from uneaten food left over from a meal to pots and pans that are being cleaned in that same spot. People also rinse their foods when they’re preparing the next dinner, like rinsing vegetables and poultry. It’s safe to say, the kitchen sink can get even germier than a toilet seat. A great way to make sure it’s sanitized is to clean it with bleach say the local Maryland moving specialists. If you have a stainless steel sink, you can scrub it with a mild soap.

And from the kitchen sink to the kitchen sponge. You use them to clean up spills, messes and everything in between. You use a sponge on dishes, stove tops, counter tops and so much more so it has attempted to clean many surfaces. But to top it all off, the local Maryland movers remind you that sponges stay wet for a long time after being used, creating an extremely hot spot for bacteria to grow. To clean it, you can place it in the dishwasher or even microwave it for a minute or two while it’s still wet. This can reduce the bacteria or mold on it. If you have carpeting at home, that can also trap in plenty of germs and allergens. Having pets makes it worse, entrapping the bacteria but odor as well.

If you have wall-to-wall carpeting, use a vacuum that has a HEPA filter. This will prevent the contaminates to recirculate.
