The U.S.’ Most Expensive Home Sold

The $150 million dollar mansion owned by Candy Spelling, widow of television producer Aaron Spelling, is under contract to be sold to 22-year-old Petra Ecclestone, a clothing designer. This Los Angeles mansion called The Manor is 57,000 square foot and has been on the market since March 2009. It was built in 1991 and has 123 rooms that sit on five acres. It has a beauty salon, a bowling alley, parking for 100 cars, a screening room, even several gift wrapping rooms. But its main feature is a double staircase inspired by “Gone with the Wind.”

The Manor, also known as the largest home in Los Angeles county, has a French chateau style and is located in Holmby Hills. The two-story home boasts the finest in luxury at every turn. It has a doll museum, a spectacular dining room, huge fountains outside, a tennis court and a pool of course. Famous celebrities visited The Manor including Prince Rainier, Prince Charles, Jackie Kennedy and stars of all of Aaron’s shows.

Candy Spelling is mom to Tori Spelling, famed actress on Beverly Hills 90210. Petra is Bernie Ecclestone’s daugter. He’s CEO of Formula One Racing. According to Forbes, his net worth is $2.4 billion which places him among the richest people in Great Britain and 254th among the world’s richest people.

It’s still unclear if Petra has paid the full $150 million price tag for The Manor.
