Davie is home to seven colleges and universities and is where the Miami Dolphins hold their training camp. Other attractions include Flamingo Gardens and the Buehler Planetarium & Observatory. At East Fort Lauderdale’s Hugh Birch State Park, you can hike, bike, fish and board the Jungle Queen Riverboat for a guided tour. In Hollywood, you can ride the Hollywood Trolley, walk Florida’s only Boardwalk and hike and bike at North Beach Park.

 

Head to Plantation if you’re an avid golfer. There you’ll find the Fort Lauderdale Country Club, the Plantation Preserve Golf Course, the Jacaranda Golf Club and the Lago Mar Country Club. Sunrise’s  BB&T Center is where the Florida Panthers hockey team plays. Start your kayak trip down the Middle River at Richardson Historic Park & Nature Preserve in Wilton Manor.
