Denver At A Glance
Being in Denver for the first time can be both exhilarating and daunting. There's an enormous amount to take in. Your friends at All My Sons Moving & Storage want to help you transition into our community by preparing you with some things to expect.
The Mile-High City.
According to the official site of the Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, Denver has the largest city park system in America with 200 named parks in the city and 14,000 acres of parks in the nearby mountains. A few of those are Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Buffalo Bill’s Grave and Echo Lake.
Undoubtedly, there are families who move to Denver for the awesome terrain. There are about 850 miles of paved, off-road bike trails in metro Denver – the largest bike path network of any urban area in the nation. Bikes can be rented downtown and in Cherry Creek North near the Cherry Creek Bike Path. Denver also has more than 17 miles of kayak chutes along the South Platte River. Kayaks can be rented near Confluence Park. One can also visit the award-winning kayak park on Clear Creek in the center of downtown Golden. This kayak course has gained national attention for its design. With recreation like this available, why don’t we all move to Denver?

The Golden Gamble
was Denver’s moniker in the mid-to-late 19th century. An estimated 100,000 people rushed into Colorado between 1858 and 1860. Only one out of three found Colorado worthwhile, because in 1860, the census taker found only 34,277 residents.

One of the best-known names from Colorado’s history: Wild Buffalo Bill
http://richgros.com/Cody/lookout_mountain.html
Born: February 26, 1846
Died: January 10, 1917
Remember Annie Get Your Gun? Remember Annie Oakley? Now do you remember where you heard about this illustrious character? William Frederick Cody, known as Buffalo Bill, was a Colorado buffalo hunter, U.S. army scout, and an Indian fighter. But he is probably best known as the man who gave the Wild West its name. He produced a colorful show called Buffalo Bill's Wild West and Congress of Rough Riders of the World, which had an international reputation and helped create a lasting image of the American West. That image would become a “draw,” influencing thousands of families to move to Denver. Buffalo Bill was a major contributor in the creation of the myth of the American West, as seen in Hollywood movies, on the musical stage and on television.
William F. Cody, after he became Buffalo Bill, thanks to dime novels of the time, was "on stage" much of the rest of his life. He became the character portrayed in those dime novels.
His first public appearances as the character Buffalo Bill came during live theatrical performances. To read more about this colorful Colorado character’s life, go to:

His most famous stage presence came during his appearances all over the world with Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. For over 30 years it captivated audiences at home and abroad and did much to popularize the west and interest people in traveling and settling in the “wild, wild west,” and particularly in moving to Denver and other parts of Colorado.
