The Greater Birmingham Association of Homebuilders Expo held at the end of June had a strong focus on steps to rebuilding homes that were destroyed from the tornado back at the end of April. The past 3 months have been a long series of debris clearing and insurance settlements for many northern Alabama residents. Now, the Expo comes at a welcome time when homeowners are anxious to rebuild.

Over 90 booths come out to the Expo, offering contractor services, cabinet and countertop installations, plumbers, roofers, and any other task associated with building a new home. Additionally, the expo serves as a great opportunity for locals to get out and mingle amongst neighbors and fellow storm survivors, the Birmingham movers included.

The businesses in the area certainly welcome to the chance to sit face to face with a vast potential customer pool. Rebuilders are urged to visit as many booths as time realistically allows, and to get multiple bids and truly find the builder and crew that are right for you and your new home. This applies to post-expo as well—if you are rebuilding in the Birmingham area, it is certainly in your best interest to get quotes from several businesses, and therefore give yourself the upper hand to haggle and negotiate.
