Baton Rouge’s Mid-City area is a great location for those who love to be immersed in the history of a city. The Garden District is an established historical neighborhood, and many beautiful upscale homes populate the area. Three districts make up The Garden District: Roseland Terrace, Drehr Place, and Kleinert Terrace.
The location of the neighborhood is where Park Boulevard intersects with Government Street. Roseland is bordered by Government, 18th, Myrtle, and 22nd. Drehr is bordered by Government, 22nd, Myrtle, and St. Rose. Kleinert Terrace is bound by Myrtle, Perkins, Broussard, and Eugene Streets.
The Baton Rouge movers have shared with you how Hollywood films are often filmed in the state of Louisiana, due to tax breaks. Former resident Steven Soderbergh shot his first film in Baton Rouge’s Garden District, called Sex, Lies & Videotape.
Roseland Terrace was originally a racetrack area covered with wild roses. The area was named Roseland Terrace due to the predominant presence of the roses, and the streets surrounding the track were given floral monikers as well. The area has been a residential development space since 1917. Many of the homes in the area are classic American Bungalow style.
