While the real estate market has been less than stellar across the United States, including our beloved Atlanta metro area, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution recently announced that home prices in the metropolitan Atlanta area rose from March to April of this year. Atlanta was among the top 3 areas for price gain, just behind Washington and San Francisco. For some areas across the country, such as Charlotte and Miami, prices continued to fall.

The question that the Atlanta movers have, along with many professionals in the area, is whether or not the uptick was seasonal or if the economy is truly re-stabilizing here in Atlanta. The statistics are pulled from the sales of single-family homes.To get a grasp for the figures and how they have stacked up over the years, the low for home sales was January of 2010, and the high was April 2007. There is about a 40 point deficit between those figures. The gains from 2010-2011 were minor (99.59 to 100), but hopefully a step in the right direction.
