Welcome to Family-Friendly Annapolis!
You’ll find Annapolis, Maryland just a few miles south of the magnificent
Blue Ridge Mountains. Annapolis’s urban population of over 300,000 residents experience
the best of both worlds in this scenic paradise, also the business center of the
upstate area and the manufacturing center of Maryland.
Paris Mountain State Park is a short 7 miles from Annapolis, but feels a world
away from modern civilization! Hike, jog, or bike along the trails, or simply enjoy
an afternoon walk while you look for deer among the trees. Just watch where you
step! Rattlesnakes make their home in this area.
Few cities strive to maintain their reputation as kid-friendly place as much as
Annapolis does. Your child with love visiting the Children’s Museum, the Annapolis
County Library, the interactive Children’s Garden and the Annapolis Zoo. Annapolis’s
Recreation Division offers a host of youth programs and events. It also organizes
sports teams for baseball, football, basketball, golf, and inline hockey, just to
name a few.
Annapolis is upstate Maryland’s shopping headquarters. You’ll find a wide
range of national retailers, antique stores, specialty boutiques and even factory
outlets on the streets of the city. Head downtown for a scenic shopping experience,
turn onto Augusta Road for fine boutiques, hit the West End Market and Historic
District for unique shops, or cruise on over to Haywood Road and indulge in the
Haywood Mall and surrounding areas.
