Below are more tips to save when watering your lawn this spring. Are
you going to remember these? If not, we’ll go over them again in a few
months. Take notes!
- Regulate sprinklers so only your lawn is watered and not the house, sidewalk, driveway or street.
- Instead of using a water hose to clean your sidewalk or driveway after mowing, use a broom.
- If water runs off your lawn easily, split your watering time into shorter periods to allow for better absorption.
- Change your lawn
mower to a higher setting when needing to mow later this spring. A
taller lawn protects roots and holds soil moisture.
- Utilize sprinklers for large areas of grass only. Use your garden hose to catch smaller areas.
- Regularly check your sprinkler system valves for leaks. Proper maintenance of the heads ensures no leakage.
- Alleviate watering on windy days. Generally the water is blown away.
