When Irregular Tasks Come Your Way, Be Ready!
Tips For Tackling Extracurricular Tasks (Such As Your Move)
On a normal day, each of us has a routine of tasks which are executed so frequently that we could probably complete them in our sleep. Not every day is a “normal” day though, so straying from your daily routine to handle sporadic extra tasks is actually very recurrent –it is the extra tasks themselves which are not. Random tasks on your to-do list can be a bit intimidating. Unlike routine tasks such as waking up or brushing your teeth, odd-ball to-do items aren’t repeated often enough to be a part of your natural rhythm. As tempting as it may be to put-off extracurricular duties to avoid possible failure or to evade tediousness, procrastination only hurts you in the long run. As a professional relocation coordinator, your professional mover here knows how tiresome of an extra task moving can be. In fact, if you are moving in the area soon, your to-do list is likely bombarded with a bunch of extra tasks which you’re not used to seeing on your daily routine. As they are a part of your mover’s daily routine, I can assure you that your move can be successfully completed quite easily if you plan effectively; your reputable relocation experts are here to help.

So you are faced with the extraneous tasks which make up your upcoming residential relocation. Your first step in tackling your moving project is to break your move down into phases; phase 1, phase 2, phase 3, and so on. If you’re going to have to find a new place to call home, one of your early phases should be apartment or house hunting. Packing up boxes in preparation for your moving day should also be an early phase, and should be executed strategically to avoid unnecessary stress in your upcoming moving phases; i.e. labeling boxes, and even compiling an inventory list so that no boxed item gets misplaced.

Once you have broken down your move into manageable individual tasks, you’ve already overcome the temptation to procrastinate, and your first reward is the realization that your move isn’t nearly as impossible as it seemed at first. Now that you have established momentum, devise a plan to maintain it. Devise a rough schedule of when and how you will complete each task. Maybe you’ll devote a couple hours each day to packing boxes, or perhaps call on friends or family to provide assistance; having a plan will prevent you from becoming overwhelmed and losing your productive momentum.

If you can successfully coordinate your move –and believe me, you can!– you can probably handle any and all extracurricular task that weasels its way into your day like a champ. Perhaps your daily routine should include seeking out extra tasks and devising a plan of action to complete them; when you tackle extra tasks head-on, they can’t sneak up on you.  A more proactive approach on your days beats a procrastinator’s approach, and will surely make your days more interesting and rewarding.
